Being entrepreneurs, wives, moms, and human beings, we all know how busy we are—doing all the things with a hectic schedule, disorganized tasks, and multiple commitments can get messy!
We are at the start of a new month, and it's time for a change – Let's start with our habits.
Habits are a key part of our lives. Not only do they offer us structure, but they also set us up for success. From waking up at the same time each day to heading toward a specific destination on the weekends, developing and sticking to habits is a critical skill for entrepreneurs.
Daily habits create consistency, help you build momentum, and ultimately produce results.
THE IMPORTANCE OF DAILY HABITS
Making a habit of doing the same things each day is one of the most important steps in becoming successful. Your daily routines will help you control your life, get more done, and see progress towards your goals. By breaking down what you need to do into small actions, you can make sure you do something every day that helps move you toward your dreams.
Habits are what separate successful entrepreneurs from everyone else. Each daily habit will bring you closer to your goals and help build the foundation for habits that stick. 1 in 2 entrepreneurs fail by making mistakes when it comes to growing their business, so put these three habits into action this month and be one of the few who succeeds!
HIGHLY EFFECTIVE HABITS FOR FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS
DEFINE YOUR TIME - Managing your time is one of the most important skills a small business owner can learn. Without the ability to manage your time well, you will struggle to grow your business and achieve your goals. Knowing how to define the time available for your work is essential for staying motivated and focused on the task at hand. Set alarms or create time blocks in your calendar to create focus time (and breaks) throughout your day...
The following time management habits will help make sure that you're getting the most out of your day:
Eliminate distractions
Set realistic goals
Plan your day in advance
Be proactive instead of reactive
Don't multitask
DEFINE YOUR PRIORITIES - There are a lot of different aspects to running a small business, and it's easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of work that needs to be done. You can't afford to ignore anything so how do you juggle everything? Knowing whether something is a nice-to-have or a must-have is essential for all entrepreneurs. Here are some tips for how to prioritize as a small business owner:
Make a list of everything you need to do and rank them from top priority down.
Ask yourself what's going to make or break your business in the next few weeks or months, and put those tasks at the top of your list (the most important ones).
The rest should fall into place after that — things like marketing or customer service might seem like important things, but they're probably not going to affect your business as much as something else would.
DEFINE YOUR WORK - As women who run our households and our businesses, we have a lot of duties: childcare, laundry, other household chores, hiring (and firing), social media management, operations, sales calls… the list is neverending. In order to make your days successful and productive, you need to plan your work ahead of time. If you don't have a plan for your business, you'll find yourself making decisions on the fly or reacting to problems instead of proactively solving them.
Here are some tips on how to plan your work as a business owner:
Know what you're good at — and what you're bad at — and delegate accordingly
Don't over-commit yourself
Create timelines and deadlines for each task
Find ways to automate mundane tasks so that they aren't eating up all your time
Use productivity tools such as Google Drive, Trello, or Asana
Finally
Habits are magical. The best entrepreneurs are not only smart and creative but also disciplined, focused, and develop habits that help them grow their businesses. As you can see, a lot of small business owners (including myself) struggle with the same problems of figuring out what to do. We’ve listed some of the big things that help us make better decisions, but now it's your turn. What are your daily habits for small business owners? Feel free to share in the comments!
